Kindly note the following information to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron is privately owned by Salzburg Global Seminar. Access is exclusive to hotel and event guests, those who join us for breakfast, and those who join guided tours.
Our site includes two buildings: Schloss Leopoldskron and the Meierhof. The Meierhof is the building on the right-hand side as you enter the premises, while Schloss Leopoldskron is on the left-hand side. (Schloss Leopoldskron is also known as the palace.)
Both buildings are generally accessible for guests with reduced mobility. Please note, however, that the historic infrastructure may provide minor obstacles, such as doorsteps, uneven floors, or tight paths, which may be challenging to overcome without help.
Our staff will be glad to help as needed. Should you have any special requests or require more information, please don't hesitate to contact us before you arrive at reception@schlossleopoldskron.com. A wheelchair-friendly room is available upon request in the Meierhof and the palace.
Please note that Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron operates cash-free, and we cannot accept cash payments. We gladly accept Maestro, all major credit cards, and mobile payments.
All rates are per room/suite per night and include all taxes. The maximum occupancy per room and suite is limited to two adults. Children aged up to six years old stay free of charge.
In our Superior and Premium double rooms in the Meierhof building and some suites in the palace, a pull-out couch is available for children aged up to 16 (at an extra charge of €69 per person per night). For adults sleeping on an additional bed or on the couch, we charge €99 per person per night. We kindly ask for advance notification.
Our General Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings. Free cancellation of a room/suite is possible until 15:00, one day prior to arrival. During the Salzburg Festival, the minimum stay is two nights in single and double rooms in the Meierhof and suites in the Schloss. Free cancellation is possible until 14 days prior to arrival.
In case of later cancellations or no-shows, 100% of the first night will be charged. Depending on the season, different cancellation conditions may apply (see above).
Dogs are welcome but are only allowed upon request. Guests will be charged €39 per dog per day, with a limit of two dogs per room. We are happy to provide a blanket, bowl, and waste bags. We kindly ask you to please clean up after your dog in the garden and park. Please note that dogs are not permitted in the dining rooms.

Arriving at Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron
If you’re arriving by car at Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron, please drive close to the main gates, which will open automatically.
Please note Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron cannot be held accountable for any damages or theft to your vehicle.
If walking to the Schloss, please use the pedestrian entrance by the main gate. Once you press the buzzer on an intercom, you will be put through to a member of our Reception Team, who will help you enter.
Upon arrival, please go to Reception in the Meierhof (the building on the right-hand side).
Exploring Your Room
Rooms/suites are available from 15:00 on arrival day. You will receive a room key once you've checked in, which you are welcome to leave at Reception for safety each time you leave the premises.
Due to the heritage-protected status of the buildings, rooms and suites do not have air conditioning. However, all rooms and suites are equipped with fans.
Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron is a non-smoking property. Smoking is not permitted in rooms, suites, corridors, meeting rooms, and other enclosed rooms in the Schloss or Meierhof. For smoking in guest rooms/suites, we charge a cleaning fee of €100 per room/suite.
Guests who stay in the Meierhof rooms will receive one bottle of mineral water during the stay. Guests who stay in a Schloss Suite in the palace will also receive fresh fruit, access to a mini-bar, and a bottle of prosecco upon request.
Fun fact: In each Meierhof room, guests will find a medicine ball instead of a footstool. Legend has it Max Reinhardt used a medicine ball to keep fit.
Navigating the Grounds
As a guest, you have access to all public areas of Schloss Leopoldskron and the Meierhof. This includes the Schloss' staterooms and our 17-acre park.
However, please note that the Schloss is a popular venue for external events, including weddings and conferences. At times, certain areas of the Schloss may not be accessible, and depending on the nature of the event, there may be some noise.
You're welcome to "loan" books from the Max Reinhardt Library in the palace and magazines from the Meierhof Lobby. Just ensure you put them back for others to enjoy.
You're also free to use the Whitman Fitness Center, which is situated in the Meierhof and open daily.
If you fancy exercising outside, we can suggest various running routes, including one around the lake. Don't forget that we also have bicycles for guests to rent all year round.
Satisfying Your Hunger and Thirst
Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron offers no on-site restaurant. However, the Meierhof Cafe does serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, coffee, and small homemade delicacies.
Several restaurants are within walking distance if you fancy something more substantial, including Weiher Wirt, Marchharts, Brunnauer, and Strasserwirt. Please ask our Reception Team for help with reservations or more recommendations.
Breakfast - the most important meal of the day - is served at the Schloss between 07:30 and 10:00. You don't want to miss it!
Visiting Salzburg
There are plenty of attractions to visit in Salzburg. The only question is where to begin. To help, we recommend reading Tourismus Salzburg's top-ten list of tourist attractions, including Hohensalzburg Fortress, Mozart's birthplace, and Mirabell Palace and Gardens.
If you are keen to attend a concert or experience some of Salzburg's cultural scene, Tourismus Salzburg has also put together a helpful events calendar.
Speak to a member of our Reception Team, and they'll also be happy to provide additional information and advice.

Upon departure, please return your room key to Reception to avoid being charged €50 in case of loss. We recommend settling your bill by 22:00 the night before to prevent potential waiting times on departure.
